Mar del Plata is used regularly for Handball and hosted the 2011 World Handball Championship. The Polideportivo Islas Malvinas hosted the Pan American Games, featuring Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis. It has previously hosted Padel tournaments, including the PPT Tournament in 2010
